About The Artwork
Meet Malaysia’s beloved legendary duo – Labu and Labi, iconic characters from black-and-white films in the 1960s. Serving the miserly Haji Bakhil, they are not just faithful assistants but versatile talents, excelling as cooks, cleaners, drivers, and more. Their wit, humor, and unwavering loyalty make them more than employees; they are regarded as cherished members of the family.

Meet The Artist
I, Huda Mazli, embarked on my journey as a portrait artist during the challenging era of the pandemic. Over time, my artistic focus has shifted towards creating monochrome figures. Charcoal has become my primary medium of choice, as I believe it harmoniously complements the monochromatic concept and allows me to express my preferred “rough strokes” aesthetic.
In my expansive sketches, I aim to captivate the attention of viewers with a distinct character. It is a pleasure for me to continue cultivating my creativity at the age of 42, drawing upon my background in architecture and landscape architecture.
Currently, I operate a gallery studio in Damansara Damai, PJ Selangor, known as Studio gARANG, which is dedicated exclusively to showcasing my charcoal artwork.
My determination remains unwavering, and I draw inspiration from the Almighty to create authentic masterpieces. I am committed to serving as a guiding example, especially for young aspiring artists.
