About The Artwork
The sculpture ‘Flying Skyward’ was intricately designed, inspired by the Malaysia Airports Holding Bhd (MAHB) logo. This exquisite piece showcases the silhouette of a plane in flight, embodying MAHB’s iconic symbol of aircraft ascending into the sky and piercing through clouds, reflecting the concept of limitless global connectivity.
The spherical shape at the heart of the sculpture signifies the global presence of MAHB, highlighting the excellence of its vision and mission that has propelled it to world-class status. The iron sheet surrounding the sphere represents the runway track and forms a triangle peak, symbolizing the solidity of MAHB’s infrastructure, facilities, and system efficiency at their airports.
‘Flying Skyward’ embodies the warm and delightful encounters offered by MAHB. It features amiable characters who warmly greet everyone, creating unforgettable experiences for those who come across the sculpture. This piece not only celebrates the joy of flight but also emphasizes the airport group’s dedication to connecting the world at large, highlighting its commitment to global connectivity and exceptional service.
Lina Ali and Ali Bebit collaborated to create the design and concept of the ‘Flying Skyward’ sculpture, which was intended for inclusion in Malaysia’s Timeless Treasures Art Exhibition.
