About The Artwork
Baradu (Tari di Padang Layang Layang) is a display of cultural heritage that marries graceful martial arts discipline with natural rhythm. The painting depicts a group of bare-chested silat practitioners, adorned in tanjak (traditional headgears) and sarongs, immersed in the fluid, expressive movements of tari silat on an open ground, contrast with blue sky where a flock of swiftlets glides in harmonious motion, creating a poetic dialogue between the grounding strength of the martial art and the boundless freedom of the birds in flight.
