Meet The Artist
Luq Zaidismail a self taught art-maker with skills build up years of trials and hand-on experiences, was born 51 years ago in the State of Kedah, the Rice Bowl of Malaysia. Though his artistic talent was discovered in his primary school years, Luq Zaidismail started to engage seriously in the art field in 1985.
In 2018, in conjunction with the installation ceremony of the 29th Sultan of Kedah, Luq Zaidismail was honoured with the once-in-a-lifetime commission; to beautify Melur Palace walls and columns, Anak Bukit, the official royal palace and residence, with a series of mural.
Luq Zaidismail has participated in numerous local dan international group shows and actively tutors art newbies . From the painting tutorials, emerge several new talents who have joined art exhibitions and competitions, nationally and internationally.
As a realist artist, Luq Zaidismail loves depicting traditional culture and heritage. He reiterates that life is a blend of life and culture, and it is his cause to immortalises the folk culture scenes in all the visual artworks he produces.
