Aleng Tohara, a self-taught artist, is a bit of a poet himself too. Starting his art ventures in 2001, his artworks are often linked to his poetry and are all based on true stories about himself, what he has gone through in the past or present.

When not focusing on his art, Aleng teaches in a special school for the deaf and speech impaired. Currently, AlengTohara still teaches student with disabilities (Hearing and Speech Impaired) in Vocational Secondary School – Special Education, Shah Alam as Teacher Librarian since 2004.. Alengtohara climb to success kicks started when he graduated from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) with a degree in management. His passion in visual arts together with the much acclaimed talent base urges him to take a step into the industry.

Aleng who is known for his pasion, natural with “beauty and clean” motto for his makeup style, soulful colours, doodles and cheerful character in illustrations. He is now bringing in the similar feel and concept to his fashion line, batik design with ALENGTOHARA-QOMERASIJI. By added playfulness with colors and pattern design inspired by nature to bring out the uniqueness of every classic or modern-classic batik design.
